Lily Skis

I took Lily up to Brighton today, for her first ever ski lesson.  She rocked the mountain.  The Gatorade Tour was there, so the hill was filled with pro freestyle skiers and boarders, doing crazy jumps, twirls and flips, giving Lily bad ideas.  By late afternoon, I took her up to the top of the real chair lifts, and she was skiing down by herself, no problem.  Cutest thing I've ever seen.  We stayed 30 minutes past our ticket (they have night skiing), and Lily still wasn't ready to go home.

Sophie turns Three !!!

Though she's still slightly confused about the differences between 2 and 3, she was certainly aware that today was her day.  We took her ice skating for the first time, and she did great!  In this photo, you can see Lily climbing the boards in the background.  Having both girls on the ice really wore Chuck out. Then it was home for presents and a (nother - see 2009) Pooh themed birthday party.  Leah made an awesome Pooh cake.  Chuck ate it.

Rock Climbing

Lily's friend Logan had a birthday party at Rockcreation.  Lily was awfully brave, as you can see.  After climbing for a couple hours, we headed back to Logan's house where the grown-ups got to birthday party while the kids vegged out downstairs.

Red Rocks!

Chuck took Lily to a U Women's gymnastics meet. (They're really good).  Red Rocks beat Iowa State!  Lily liked the music, the spot lights, her pom-pom, her friends we ran into, the popcorn, the dancing, the cheering etc.  Also, the gymnastics wasn't bad. (Picture is from sltribune.com).

Potty & Ice

Sophie woke up today, and decided she was going to use the potty.  We've been trying for months, with zero success. But today, Sophie decided to try -- without mine or Leah's involvement mind you.  Only one kid left in diapers!

Lily & Chuck went skating today: first time this year. Fifth time overall?  After a few minutes, she was right back at it... for a while.  But skating is tiring, so after a while, we went to the other rink and watched the Salt Lake County's Men's League's Christmas Tournament's Championship Game.  Bruins beat Blackhawks.

2010 !!!

Chuck and Leah actually made it to midnight last night. Woohoo 2010.  Did you know that Ryan Seacrest and Dick Clark are rerun for midnight in the Mountain Time Zone? They can't even have some B-list star count down in Vegas? Painful.

Sledding yesterday in Sugarhouse Park.  Lily recommended the hill she remembered from July 4th fireworks.  She was right: the hill was awesome.  Both Lily and Sophie were cruising down far too large a hill at far too high a speed.  Crazy kids.  Levi loved it while he was asleep on Mommy's back.  Once he woke up, well, we had to go.
